ACCENT is a Network of Excellence funded by EC, FP6, PRIORITY 1.1.6.3 Global Change and Ecosystems

ACCENT's goals are to promote a common European strategy for research on atmospheric composition change, to develop and maintain durable means of communication and collaboration within the European scientific community, to facilitate this research and to optimise two-way interaction with policy-makers and the general public.

Deadline Extension: Access to Infrastructures
The deadline for submitting proposals for accessing research infrastructures (research aircraft, laboratory facilities, advanced analytical instrumentation and monitoring stations) is extended to October 14, 2004.
ACCENT is aimed at facilitating access of users to European infrastructure facilities, irrespective of their location in the Union, and to improve the mobility of experts between the infrastructures. A major objective is to promote cross-fertilization between laboratories, surface observatories and aircraft. This will be made through financial support for travel and subsistence of users and experts to the infrastructures. The criterion for eligibility of the host infrastructure is to have provided the requested information as described in the calls for infrastructure operators.

ACCENT Symposium
The ACCENT Symposium would be the prime tool for defining, promoting and updating a common research agenda. It is not only meant to gather the ACCENT community, but also to involve the wider scientific community as well as policy-makers and the public. It will take place in the Renaissance Town of Urbino, Italy, from 12-16 Sept 2005.
